In February, 18 “KPI Start-ups Prospective Projects” workshop took place in Scientific Park “Kyiv polytechnic” with the participation of “Boeing Ukraine” company representatives, “Progresstech” group of companies and Embassy of USA in Ukraine.
Aerospace start-ups as well as the projects of graduate students of Start-up university school have been represented in a panel session. A part of start-ups were introduced for the first time, that’s why it became the scope of interest of participants, in particular, representatives of aerospace field – the manager of “Boeing Ukraine” company, Myhailo Yanchyshyn, head of board of directors of “Progresstech” group of companies Volodymyr Kulchytskyi, manager of “Progresstech – Ukraine” Andrii Fialkovskyi and others.
Among the projects being under consideration during the first part of the workshop – the winner of Festival of innovative projects «Sikorsky Challenge 2014» unmanned aircraft system “Spectator” (was introduced by the chairman of the board of OJSC “Merydian”, where UAVs have already been manufactured); students’ satellite or more exactly a series of nanosatellites of KPI “PоlyItan”, first of which is «PоlyITAN-1», being in orbit for year and a half (they were introduced by the manager of designers group, Ph.D in Engineering Sciences, Borys Rassamakin); the project of satellite constellation of Earth remote sensing, creation of national operator that will provide satellite images of particular Earth areas without any intermediaries being one of the main goals (was presented by Oleg Rufin) and the project of stratosphere unmanned vehicle “Stratos”, more exact, systems of such vehicles for long-term (for 5 years) aerial inspection in the lower stratosphere layers (reported Ph.D in Engineering Sciences, associate professor of Department of Electronic Devices and Equipment of FEL Leonid Tsybulskyi). Notably, the last two projects are pioneering. Meanwhile, they may be soon put into practice – the matter of investments. For instance, the construction of “neuronet of stratosphere medusa” on the basis of vehicles with rigid frame lighter than air that at the altitude of 20-30 kilometers can carry tons of equipment for providing telecommunication services and communication (“Stratos” project), despite its imaginary incredibility is quite real. “There are no engineering problems in advancing this project in practical terms. We will be able and to introduce these engineering solutions, patent ideas put into these solutions. And then the project will be advancing along with interested organizations and companies” – rector of NTUU “KPI”, academician of Ukrainian NAS, Myhailo Zgurovskyi admitted in the session.
The second part of the workshop was devoted to the discussion of some projects of diverse orientation and subject by graduates of Start-up school «Sikorsky Challenge» – finalists and winners of Festival of innovative projects «Sikorsky Challenge 2015». Participants and guests considered start-ups by Vitalii Baranovskyi and Oleksandr Mozoliuk (development of logistics system for unmanned aircraft vehicles), Andrii Konovalnko («CamTouch» interactive complex), Liza Voronzova («FORCEmotion» – mobile device of remote control for health condition of elderly people), Anton Galiashunskyi (multivision «Wider») and others.
In the end, Myhailo Zgurovskyi expresses his hopes for the further cooperation development with companies and their heads who took part in today’s workshop.
