On October, 2, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by the delegation of Aptiv PLC, headed by its Vice President and Managing Director in Europe, Central Asia and Africa, Ulrich Eichler.
The delegation also included Director of Production Development in Europe, Central Asia and Africa Luis Figueiredo, CFO in Europe, Central Asia and Africa Joaquim Markesh and others.
Aptiv PLC, formerly known as Delphi Automotive PLC, is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of automotive components and spare parts. Its specialization is electrical systems of automobiles, including connectors, cable systems and electric centers and hybrid systems for the distribution of high voltage and safety, as well as automotive electronics and security systems, including software and sensor systems, computing platforms, information and entertainment systems and communication systems etc. The company pays serious attention to innovation. Its headquarters are located in Dublin (Ireland), affiliates and businesses located in many countries around the world.
The guests met with rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Michael Zgurovskyi, first vice-rector of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yuriy Yakymenko, general director of the Kyiv Polytechnic Science Park Volodymyr Gnat, head of the department of foreign economic activity of the International Cooperation Department Andriy Shysholin and others.
Michael Zgurovskyi told the guests about models of cooperation with foreign partners, worked out at the university, including the joint educational centers established with large companies. A definite addition to his story was the presentation of the Science Park and projects implemented there, made by Volodymyr Gnat. After that, the participants of the meeting discussed possible directions and forms of cooperation.
“This visit is only the first step in establishing our cooperation,” said Michael Zgurovskyi. – The following should be of a professional nature and relate to specific areas of cooperation. Participating in them from our side will be staffed by individual faculties, researchers and project managers”.
At the end, the meeting agreed to identify the key people for further contacts and deployment of cooperation.
At the end of the visit, the delegation visited the historical part of the university campus and became acquainted with the exposition of the State Polytechnic Museum of the University.
